Sea Beast is very lucky to have a great deal of support from all manner of people including friends, family, artists, musicians, fellow puppeteers and patrons of the arts. We would like to take a moment to say “Thank you” to all the people who are helping to make our dreams a reality.
Fern Lerwick is a traditional musician in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Fern explores the roots of the traditional music of Northern Europe through the Piobh Mhor (Great Pipes) also Small Pipes, Whistle, Voice, and more. As a solo piper Fern expresses her love for the Great Bagpipe through her passionate playing of traditional pipe tunes from Scotland, Ireland, France and Spain. Fern currently plays for country dancers and for shows and fand festivals.
Bagpipe Performer "Hans My Hedgehog” Mary Beth Tallman is an accomplished bagpipe player from Palatine, IL. She has an extensive resume which includes: The University of Chicago Pipe Band, Blue Man Group, and Walter Mattheau’s 75th Birthday Surprise Party. When she is not rocking out on the bagpipes she works on films as a script editor. Some of her credits include “Rudy,” “Wanted,” “Batman Begins,” and “Public Enemies.” Her son is an accomplished musician and plays in band called ADHD.

Proud puppet parent Dave Rix is delighted to be a contributor to the success of Sea Beast Puppet Company by providing music and recording for many of their productions. Dave’s 35 year background in music has seen him playing in numerous “big hair” bands through the 80’s and 90’s, writing and recording original music for a CD by The Guild “Out Of The Blue”, and most recently returning to his blues roots playing harmonica in Doug James and The Pocket.
