The Best Day Ever

“Best Day Ever” follows the adventures of Kat and MK, two puppeteers with one goal- to put on a show. But it’s hard to do that when you’re lost in the screen and it’s even harder when the puppeteers turn into puppets themselves! Join Kat and MK as they try to conquer the world they’ve created and discover the wonders of shadow puppetry at the same time.

This show pairs well with our shadow puppet improvisation workshop and when the two are presented together, we utilize puppets that the children have created as characters in the show.

Premiered at the Field Museum of Chicago's "Dozin' With The Dinos" 2016 program.

This show started as an experimental piece to practice techniques in shadow puppetry and grew into one of our most popular shows!

Kat and MK Take a Vacation

“Kat and MK Take a Vacation” is the preschool version of our show “Best Day Ever” and follows the adventures of Kat and MK, two ladies who really need a vacation. Their journey for the perfect spot to relax takes them from down on Old McDonald’s farm to the sand and sea of tropical Hawaii and even all the way to the moon! Along the way they meet some crazy characters, make new friends, and narrowly avoid some disastrous situations.

This show pairs well with our shadow puppet improvisation workshop and when the two are presented together, we utilize puppets that the children have created as characters in the show.

Children get to play a role in the telling of our story and make it their own.

This show is performed in front of the screen instead of from the back so children can watch behind the scenes as the puppeteers make their magic!
