Fantastic Puppets and How to Build Them

Course Length: 4 Classes (option to take individual classes)

Do you have a fantastic beast living under your bed? You don’t?! Well, we can fix that. Come to this build-along workshop and create your own collection of incredible paper puppets.

Participants will chose from a variety of puppet artwork that they can print out and use to assemble their own cast of puppets. Each week we will provide a different theme of original art created by the talented staff of Sea Beast Puppet Company. This craft is great for kids age 5-12, but is fun for everyone!

Class Dates: 

  1. 9/22, 10/20, 11/17: Mythical Beasts

  2. 9/29, 10/27, 11/24: Creepy Crawlies

  3. 10/6, 11/3, 12/1: Robots

  4. 10/13, 11/10, 12/8: Outer Space

Materials and Tools

Many of the materials and tools are items often found around the house or can be acquired at the local dollar store. Art will be provided by downloadable pdf for each class as needed.

  • Downloadable PDF Printout

  • poster board/card stock/or cereal boxes

  • glue stick, 2 bamboo skewer or chop sticks

  • brads (also called paper fasteners)

  • scissors

  • crayons/colored pencils/or markers

  • hole punch

  • masking/or scotch tape
