Allie is a geriatric millennial, oyster enthusiast, and theater dilettante from San Francisco. She loves movies, ferns, and you.

Katie resides in piney Portland, Oregon with her husband and dog. She loves curating puppet slams, eating PBJ sandwiches with two hands, and spotting banana slugs on hikes.

Summer is easily flustered, writes fiction, and doesn't really like potatoes. She hopes others would describe her as "quick to laugh."

Emily Marsh is a puppeteer, performer, and die-hard Aliens fan. Throughout Emily's puppetry career what has been consistent is her love of found-object puppetry. So for her Alien scene, Emily wanted to try her hand at using everyday objects to convey all the drama and thrill of a sci-fi classic. Will she succeed? Can a red solo cup emote? We will see, or it's game over man.

Jason Hines has been the resident puppet builder at the Center for Puppetry Arts for a long, long time.  In his spare time he plays accordion and likes to make hotdogs.  That's about it.

Growing up in San Francisco, CA, Valerie studied piano and composition at a young age in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Preparatory Division. With this early training providing a strong foundation, Valerie continued her musical progression at UC Santa Barbara College of Creative Studies. It was there that Valerie got her first taste of improvisation, joining a rock and funk band, playing venues both on campus and off; other notable accomplishments include solo recitals for piano and composition as well as writing, producing and directing a musical play. After graduation she continued to hone her performance and composition chops before heading south to Los Angeles.

The vibrant L.A. music scene allowed Valerie to expand her skill, knowledge and exposure to a wide range of styles. Currently she plays actively in three bands - indie-rock tribute band Black Crystal Wolf Kids at venues as diverse as the Rose Bowl to the Paramount Studios backlot, the Universal City Walk stage, and sold-out shows at El Cid among others; New Orleans funk band The Terpsichords featured at LA funk-venue staples Fais Do Do, Harvelles and The Mint ; and multiple night clubs and community events all over LA County with jazz, soul and groove specialist Danny Meyer Music.

Building on her musical theatre experience from college, Valerie has been heavily involved with the Help Group and Summit View School in Los Angeles in fostering their theatre programs. For 9 consecutive years Valerie served as the Music Director for Summit View School's West Side and Valley campuses. Musicals performed include Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Working, Oliver, The Pajama Game, Footloose, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie and Grease, among others.

Valerie's other past projects include an original funk rock project called DIGGEM with an album released in 2013 titled Meet Me At the Chain featuring her song-writing skills and vocal ability; recording piano and keyboard tracks for the albums Will and Give me the Love or Give me the Fight and touring with Clifton Williams and the Blue James Band, as well as former original projects Tight Pants, Hazmat, Retro Transit Authority, Ween cover band Fat Lenny; and Top 40 cover band Smooth Touch at such venues as Pechanga Resort and Casino, Fantasy Springs Casino, Misty's at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, and featured concerts at the Hafif Estate's 'Concert Under the Stars' in La Verne, CA.

Kat Pleviak is the founder and Artistic Director of Sea Beast Puppet Company in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Under Kat’s direction Sea Beast has initiated a number of exciting puppetry projects including a series of original works such as “The Shadow Puppet Conspiracy," "The History of Light, " and  "Méfiez-Vous de la Vache-Garou" which won best in show at the Chicago Fringe Festival in 2013.

Kats work has been featured in such venues as the Art Institute of Chicago, The Field Museum, The Detroit Institute of Arts, and Skirball Center in Los Angeles California. Festivals she has been featured in include The Chicago Humanities Festival,  The Chicago Improv Festival, numerous Puppeteers of America Festivals all over the country and the UNIMA International puppetry conference in Perth Australia. Kat is a regular contributor to The Puppetry Journal and was a featured artist in Puppetry Internationals 40 Under 40 list.

Ben Stansbery is a puppeteer based in Lingelstown, Pennsylvania, primarily working as a digital puppeteer for Hershey’s Chocolate World, He has also built and performed with puppetry for a variety of clients, including Schlock and Awe Films, the Hershey Gardens, and Madcap Puppets, as well as a featured role in the virtual event “Blobfest,” this July. An avid horror and sci-fi fan, Ben is supremely excited to be putting his own spin on Aliens, and can’t wait to see what his fellow puppet artists have created as well!

Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, is a 5 time Daytime Emmy nominated performer of Abby Cadabby on Sesame Street. She is a multifaceted entertainer and artist who has dedicated her life to championing the arts through community outreach, workshops, and live shows. She has enjoyed a residency at New York’s Laurie Beechman Theatre since 2017.  Her work there garnered her a Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award nomination for Musical Comedy Performer in 2019. Her shows at The Beechman have included What Just Happened, Moonlight Madness, and Bizarre Brunch. Other TV and film credits include: Splash and Bubbles (2017 Annie Award Nominee), Nature Cat, Johnny and The Sprites,  Animal Jam, ABC’s Muppets Tonight, A Muppet Christmas, The Simpsons,  and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Her work as the purple fairy has allowed her to perform at The White House, and with both The Jazz and Lincoln Center Orchestra and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  Leslie’s original musical Wake Up Your Weird enjoyed runs at The O'Neill Puppetry Conference and off-Broadway. Her radio-show-style podcast series, Lolly’s Radio Playdate received accolades from NPR. Leslie and her signature character, candy-loving 5-year old Lolly Lardpop, spend their days helping families and communities navigate life creatively by providing joy through the arts to help them make a difference with their own unique voices.

Since 2007, Milwaukee, WI-based Angry Young Men Ltd have been performing acts of puppet mayhem at Slams, Festivals & Conventions throughout the Midwest. You might remember them in past Sea Beast slams for their exploding shark in ‘Jaws’, musical number involving the Crucifixion, or their graphically violent version of ‘The Aristocrats’.
 
Best known for ‘Night of the Living Dead – the Puppet Show’, their long-running sketch variety show ‘Full Frontal Püppetry’ has been delighting audiences & confusing critics for the past decade.

I am Cody Creed. I have been a puppeteer with Winnipeg Puppet Collective for 6 years, engaging in yearly slams and semi-monthly jams with them. We are a collaborative group and have been building a loyal following in the City. I have been exploring building elaborate sets and animatronic/rod puppets for small scale story telling. I’m very excited to share my section: APC rescue (Nuking From Space.) I have been building a radio controlled functional APC that is capable of some filmatic destruction.

QateBean is a puppeteer, performer, builder, creator, and teaching artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. She’s been Puppet Slammin’ for 13 years in her hometown and other towns in other parts of this country. She is also known as BEAN! of the duo Bean&Bear, performing puppetry, magic, and other bizarre stuff. She’s super pumped to be part of the Aliens team performing for the whole internet!

Mary Kate Jenkins is a Chicago area freelance puppet builder and puppeteer with a BFA in Drama from New York University's Experimental Theatre Wing. She has worked with several New York area production companies such as Basil Twist and Encyclopedia Pictura, where she worked on Bjork's music video for "Wanderlust." Props Design credits include “Buddy Holly” at Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, “Sylvia” at the Metropolis Performing Arts Center, and “Iolanthe” at Light Opera Works. Her television puppetry credits include puppeteering for the children's eco-based television pilot "Mr. Furry Fur Fur and His Friendly Earth Friends." She currently works as a founding member of Sea Beast Puppet Company.

Seattle-based Vox Fabuli Puppets is super chuffed to be joining Sea Beast Puppetry for the very first time. Mashing up pop culture with puppets is their favorite playground and space horror is their favorite horror, so they’re glad to be along for the ride, even if it does wind up being a bug hunt.

The House of Funny Noises is a Bristol based film collective that aims to delight and occasionally disgust you with short, sweet and sickening puppet films. Their primary focus is on short format media as a way to explore weird visuals and concise thought provoking storytelling.
 
Originally formed during the first lockdown of 2020 the House of Funny Noises has three founding members; Cat Rock, Helena Houghton, and Izzy Bristow who frequently collaborate with friends, local artists, and other art groups to make their work as striking as possible.  
 
In their short time working together they have been featured at puppet slams around the world, produced a puppet film festival, received awards for several of their films and even made one panel of judges squirm in horror and delight.  Looking to the future, House of Funny Noises has a full slate of films and short series they want to use to make you squirm in horror and delight as well.
